Historic Libraries in Context
The Derry & Raphoe Diocesan Library: Past, Present and Future
University of Ulster,  Magee Campus, 7 - 8 June 2011

This conference, organised by the University of Ulster, aimed to engage with bibliographers, historians and conservators, each with their own understanding of book culture, with the overall intention of identifying future avenues for research within the Derry and Raphoe Diocesan collection, and within similar historic library collections in general.  We also hoped to generate an interdisciplinary discussion about the current and possible future uses of libraries such as the Derry & Raphoe Diocesan Library as well as the curatorial and preservation issues that have been raised over the course of the project.
