World Medical Association

An organisation representing physicians, established in 1947.  The site includes statements of policy on a large number of medical issues, and an International Code of Ethics

British Medical Association

General Medical Council

Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists

European Court of Human Rights

The HUDOC database contains full text access to human rights case judgments from 1960- Useful for recent cases in the area of human rights and medical care

A weekly digest of news in assisted reproduction and human genetics, Click on Commentaries for information on legal issues and concepts.  

Centre of Medical Law & Ethics

King's College London.  This includes  a newsletter called Dispatches, which offers a window into the world of medical law and ethics through a mix of topical articles, law notes, book reviews and events listings

National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature

A comprehensive site, including Bioethicsline (National Library of Medicine index to citations in bioethics literature)

Dignity in Dying

A campaigning site, with extensive material on legal and other aspects of euthanasia with a world wide focus

Mental Health Review Tribunal

Provides information for patients and family members, healthcare and social care professionals, and legal representatives
