Legal Gateways and Portals

Legal Portals and Gateways are websites where subject specialists provide guided access a huge number of excellent FREE Internet links to practically every major legal resource available.

Highly recommended:

Law Links	Multi-award winning source-list of legal links from Sarah Carter at the University of Kent. The site is divided into subject and jurisdiction areas. Excellent coverage. The site also contains Guides to Legal Resources and legal skills training. Some applicable to Kent students only, but most are generic.
Law Bore	Another excellent site, this time from City University London. It aims to present internet resources selected for their quality rather than quantity. As well as Web Links - Top Picks for each of the subject areas, you can also get access to Articles- Top Picks. An * indicates that they are for City University students only, but many of the references are taken from Westlaw to which we have a subscription. If you enter your Athens details when prompted, you will get also access to the recommended article.
Legal Resources in the UK & Ireland	Maintained by Delia Venables, this site is broken into 4 parts - one of which is aimed at students. It contains Resources for Law students, information on Law courses (including a 'Rate your Law course') and general legal links of use to students AND lawyers.
Legal-Island	"The leading web site for legal information relating to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland". Links to legislation and case-law, a number of legal association and access to directories of barristers and solicitors.
Europa	The starting place for European information. Links to the various institutions of the EU; full text documents, access to EUR-Lex, the portal for EU Law Resources.
INTUTE Social Sciences	Quality assured internet links, amassed by subject specialists. Searchable directory of internet sites by keyword or browsing through a hierarchy of sub-topics. See also the Virtual Training Suite for the Virtual Tour of Internet resources for Lawyers

INFOLAW	Site maintained by Nick Holmes. A considerable number of links to legal and law related links.
Global Legal Information Network	A database of laws, regulations, and other complementary legal sources for a large number of different jurisdictions
Jurist	Maintained by the University of Pittsburgh. Very useful site containing news, documents, quick links to legislation, case law.
NELLCO Legal Scholarship Repository	The NELLCO Legal Scholarship Repository provides a free and persistent point of access for working papers, reports, lecture series, workshop presentations, and other scholarship produced by 25 major US Law Schools. Full text access where available
