Define Your
Subject Area
Right at the very start you need to ask
yourself “What am I looking for? What do I need to find out?”
Spend some time thinking about your
subject – be clear in your mind about what’s being asked of you.
As mentioned above, textbooks on your
reading lists can be a good place to start. Or, have you thought about
using an encyclopaedia to help define and clarify your subject? Each of the
Libraries has a reference collection where you can find encyclopedias,
dictionaries and other useful material. Don’t forget that many of our
reference sources are now available electronically and can be accessed
directly from your pc.
