Swipe card Access to Magee Library   [04/05/12]

Full Story:

From Tuesday 8th MayFriday 25th May access to Magee Library will be limited to students and staff with valid ID cards. Entry will be via swipe access at the front door.

Please ensure you have your ID card with you and it is properly activated. Cards can be activated by Security Staff in MD Block.

This change is in response to problems with noise and overcrowding caused by non-University users at previous exam times.

We will also grant access - via the front door intercom - to other University of Ulster card holders:

  • Step-up students
  • Alumni members
  • Inspire borrowers
  • Associate students
  • And, on personal application to the Campus Library Manager or deputy, members of the wider community engaged in genuine research using our materials

These access procedures may result in some inconvenience, especially for students who have forgotten / lost their cards, but should guarantee students the space and environment they need at exam time. It also has the support of the Students Union and our Facility Services staff.

Campus Library Manager
