The Statutory
Rules contain the main body of secondary
legislation. From 1922 until 1972
they were known as the NI Statutory
Rules and Orders but from 1973
they became the NI Statutory Rules.
The S.R.s are the rules, regulations
and orders made by the NI rule making
authorities and are the equivalent
of the UK Statutory Instruments. Title

All
the major Construction Design and Management
(CDM) documents can be found online in the
database called Construction
Information Service.
Construction
Information Service provides full
text access to thousands of publications.
Once
you have entered the database using
your Athens username and password,
the easiest way to find CDM publications
is by clicking on the Browse
button at the top of the screen, and
clicking on C in the alphabetical
list under Browse by Subject.
At the time of writing, this gives
you access to 80 publications including
important documents from the Health
and Safety Executive, BSRIA and CIBSE.
Alternatively, you can use the Simple
or Advanced search screen to narrow
your search.

Looking for JCT information?
|
|
Construction
Information Service provides full
text access to
all the JCT05 and
JCT98 material.
Use your
Athens username and password to
enter the database.
To find JCT05 material,
click on the Publishers
button at the top of the screen, and
find
Sweet and Maxwell in
the alphabetical list.
To find
JCT98 material,
you need to follow the directions
above, but look for the publisher
Joint Contracts Tribunal instead.
Alternatively,
you can find all the JCT05 and JCT98 material
in the Barbour Index database. Using your
Athens username and password, login to the
Barbour Index, choose Construction Expert
from the menu, go to the Advanced Search
and key in Joint Contracts Tribunal in the
Publisher field. You can then sort the results
by clicking on the top of the Year column,
to get access to the latest contracts.
In addition,
all the relevant JCT publications - contract
forms, supplements and guidance - are available
in the Library in the Short Loan Room, (behind
the Issue Desk). They can be found at the
shelf number 692.8/JOI. The Joint
Contracts Tribunal website has a good
guide
on how to select the relevant material you
need.

NEC3 Contracts are available on-campus only.
The NEC3 Contracts are a legal
framework of project management procedures, and are the most widely
used contracts in UK engineering and
construction projects. The University of Ulster
Library is the first UK academic Library to make
the contracts available electronically.
