Standards

A useful guide to British Standards is provided by BSI, as is a guide to Eurocodes.

ANSI - American National Standards Institute
This site has details of ANSI standards as well as those produced by other major standards organizations.
ASTM International
ASTM International, originally known as the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), was formed over a century ago. ASTM International is one of the largest voluntary standards development organizations in the world-a trusted source for technical standards for materials, products, systems, and services. Standards developed at ASTM are the work of over 30,000 ASTM members. These technical experts represent producers, users, consumers, government and academia from over 100 countries. Participation in ASTM International is open to all with a material interest, anywhere in the world. The Library has access to full text ASTM standards from 2000. They are available from CD-Roms in Jordanstown Library - ask at the Library Information Point for details.
British Standards
British Standards Online is the authoritative and most current source of standards from BSI. The service also contains cross references to standards from international organisations. British Standards Online delivers information about more than 38,500 publications through the Internet to your desktop. Searching the system is easy and the image you see is of the original document, ensuring that the information you see is 100% accurate.
CEN - European Committee for Standardization
The CEN site provides access to European standards via links to individual national standards bodies
IEEE
All the IEEE Standards are available in full text format online via the Library's IEL Online Library Database.
ISO - The International Organization for Standardization
ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 148 countries, on the basis of one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system. If an ISO standard has been adopted by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard, you can access it via British Standards Online
Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory
US measurements and standards.
National Physical Laboratory
NPL is the United Kingdom's national standards laboratory, an internationally respected and independent centre of excellence in research, development and knowledge transfer in measurement and materials science.
The National Standards Authority of Ireland
The NSAI is Ireland's Standards body. NSAI facilitates the development of voluntary standard documents which manufacturers or service providers may use as an aid to meeting safety or customer requirements. It is also a leading supplier of product and systems Certifications Services, both domestically and internationally, and is the provider of Legal Metrology services in Ireland. You can access the catalogue from this site, but in order to access full text standards you need to apply via the Library's Document Delivery service.
