The Fire Statistics and Research Branch compiles statistics on fires and deaths and other casualties resulting from fires are based on returns provided by local authority Fire Brigades in the United Kingdom, including Northern Ireland. Considerable detail is provided on fires in buildings, road vehicles or other types of property or involving casualties or rescues, including:

The Economic Cost of Fire
These reports show the total cost to the economy from fire in England & Wales. They include the estimated costs incurred in anticipation of fire, costs borne as a consequence of fire and the cost of the Fire and Rescue Service. Average costs are also calculated for different types of fire.

The figures shown are the fire statistics for three years in order that some comparison can be made.
They are on a county by county basis even though some counties have more than one local authority running different brigades.

The Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government
produces an annual statistics bulletin which contains statistics of fire and other emergency calls dealt with by local authority fire brigades during the year as well as details on fire fatalities in the year. The statistics are based on information supplied by fire authorities.

European Statistics
EuroStat produces publications and short- and long-term indicators. Includes economic, employment, information technology, financial and environment data for the European Union, Euro-zone and by member country.
